Guest Wes Report post Posted November 21, 2013 Seeing the latest auction item I just wanted to clarify that the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium does NOT host the Banff Mountain Film Festival. That event is hosted by The Alpine Club Of Canada - Thunder Bay Section.We pay for the festival to come here and we choose which films are shown.We pay the auditorium to house the event.Having said that, the auditorium does a great job for what we are paying for. Class act over there.This event is what our club relies on for annual expenses. The Thunder Bay section is a totally volunteer based organization that uses these funds to run events and heavily subsidize members skill building courses. Eg. High Angle Rescue,First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, just to name a few.You may or may not have seen us on the Rick Mercer show when we took him ice climbing.Anyway not only will the winner of that auction get a fantastic evening out, but they will be helping out another great organization in doing so.Thanks for the auction Still-Learning.Wes Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
