Guest Wes Report post Posted November 25, 2013 Last spring a group of people driving 4x4s came up to the top of the Mnt. McKay (not the first time but it was when they got caught for the first time) and destroyed their land. The top of the mountain is considered sacred grounds where they hold their pow wows and they've asked in the papers/fb that people don't use it for that certain activity. Of course, they were ignored and it happened again. Only this time one of them got stuck. One of the FWFN members took pictures to show the police and got threatened. Police were called and it came out that they were members of this 4x4 mud runs group. The president denied encouraging the members to go there. So now the mountain is off limits and it affects all who actually respects the land and enjoy using it.Hikers, Climbers, Photographers, etc. all forbidden from accessing the areas they enjoy because some a-holes think they have certain rights to land on which they do not own.I was young once and I too took great pride in the size of my tires, but never did I think that because I can go anywhere it literally meant I can go anywhere. This is a prime example of no respect, selfishness, ignorance, the list goes on.Why am I posting this here you ask? Well anglers/hunters and 4x4s go hand and hand. Most of us own one and some of us enjoy using them. I see a lot of mud covered 4x4s down at the rivers during the spring so the cul"pricks" may very well be members of this board or at least read it.Everyone, please respect the signage, ignoring them will only make things worse. There is a discussion in place to try and resolve this but continued violations will only expedite the termination of these discussions and facilitate permanent closure for everyone.Wes
