once the snow is off the ice I might take some out as long as I get big enough loads at least 8 people per trip its to far to run with any less

black bay is fishable there is some slush in places but if you pick ur spots ur good to go

I heard the ice is still good and solid with no snow or slush. Apparently a guy had a truck way out there.

Any word on oce ridges being open? First time goin in the spring. Will bring 2 kids and a sleigh. Not sure how well that setup will skim over open water.

I was out on the weekend and there was tons of ice. Still need extension on the jiffy. If it stays cold I wonder how long you can safely fish? If someone said you could ice fish in May I would have thought they were cra6zy...but maybe this is the year.

I was out this past weekend also and fished a couple different lakes. Ice thickness varied from 30-35". The quality of ice varied considerably. Some spots had layered ice with 6-8" of hard crust followed by a layer of 12" of slushy water then another 12-14" of ice. Other spots had 30" of ice only. The ice has become honeycombed.

Last year we were ice fishing with sleds on May 6th. The lake had 20-24" of ice and there was 12-18" of snow in the bush at the time. I would have bet anything last year that the ice would not gone by the walleye opener. Lots can happen in the next three weeks. It is going to be close.

went out yesterday 4 of us ended up with 98. the perch went deep now we where fishing in 26 feet
