1st Time Poster - Heaven Lake Access Inquiry

Recommended Posts

adamwg

Hello:

My name is Adam Graham. 1st time poster, long time lurker. Anyways, having fished Sauerbrei Lake numerous times, I have recently become intrigued with the lake further down the road, Heaven.

What I would like to know is which turnoff would I go down off the main gravel road to access Heaven? Is there some kind of landmark by the access road I should familiarize myself with?

Also, how is the road compared to Sauerbrei's? I would be going in there with a 2000 Ford F-150 with the off road package. From what I can tell, there are some pretty good people on this board

and I would greatly appreciate the help regarding this lake.

Thanks,

Adam.

Hi Adam, welcome!

If you are going into Saurbrei, I don't think Heaven Lake will be an issue.

Have a great summer!

Thanks for giving me the info regarding the road going into Heaven.

I noticed that there are two roads that either go to or near the lake.

I have attached an image with the roads labeled 1 & 2.

Which road do I go down to get to the lake?

Maybe you or someone else can steer me in the right direction.

Regards,

Adam.

1 st road grown in quad access or walking lots of big rocks at landing makes launching boat a pain 2nd road newer landing has a couple deep mud holes in it ,hill before lake a little rough stumps and big rocks but with a little patience you will make it in. when driving in off 527 stay on main road keep to right at km 16 (first fork in road) at around km 25 stay to left ( 2nd major fork in road) proceed through newer cut you will come to T in road 3-4 km in take left road proceed to lake 1-2 km in . Main road was cleared last fall as cutting near heaven lake to proceed this year .good luck

I appreciate the info regarding the access roads into Heaven.

Like the mental picture provided so I know what I am getting myself into.

Throughout last summer while fishing Sauerbrei, I saw that the roadsides were getting cleared out and wondered why.

Looks like you provided an answer to that question as well.

However, I was also wondering why someone was taking the effort to rebuild the road across the highway.

Would that be mining??? Sure couldn't be the two little lakes on that road.

Regards,

Adam.

Hey Adam, great pics!

I was wondering, since you fish Sauerbrei, what the access to that lake was like.

I heard it was grown in and pretty rough now.

Can I launch a boat? And can I park a trailer near by?

Sauerbrei when on is a great lake!!!

I have fished Sauerbrei regularly since 1999 and have limited out way more than not.

If you have a depth finder, use it regularly when there. It can go from 3 feet to 25 feet real fast and back to 3.

The lake is very rocky all over and is a tackle stealer. But, the risk is worth the reward.

It is not so much roughness on the road in, but lots of overgrowth.

Be prepared for some tree marks, beyond that you will be fine.

As far as the launch is concerned, It is in great shape with two decent sized beaches.

I have been to some easy access lakes with some rougher launches.

As far as a trailer, that is very iffy, you may want to avoid that.

Though, there have been some brave enough to attempt it.

Hope you have a great trip in there and post a report if you go there.

Regards,

Adam.
