My son's first deer

Recommended Posts

Guest Beamer

My 13 year old son was able to harvest his first deer as an apprentice hunter with me earlier this week. He has been very patient and opted to wait out for a buck. He threaded the needle on a perfect shot with his bow while I watched from beside him in the stand. My proudest moment as a father

** People often ask me why I like hunting and fishing so much... I tell them that those are the only places where my mind doesn't think.... You should really try it sometime! **

Beamer I would have thought you'd make him wait for a 12er! lol Joking aside, a 6er at 13 with a bow (and great shot placement) is awesome. Congrats Beamer Jr.

I tried convincing him to take a doe as he had lots of opportunities, but no he was determined it was going to be a buck :)

Its a proud moment indeed. I had a moment like that a few years ago. I know the feeling, and how proud you must be of your son. That is a real hunter that passes up easy deer to take the one he wants. CONGRATS!!
