salmonider 1 Report post Posted November 14, 2014 I've called them with foxpro tough shots tho because they are always moving. bait piles work but be prepared to spend many a long cold day. Whatever u do, don't ever pass up a shot at one. I plan on spending many a cold day this winter it's incredibly challenging hunting and incredibly interesting and rewarding. brookiebuster 117 Report post Posted November 17, 2014 Best way would be to hunt on a lake out of the way of traffic and cut some holes in the ice and freeze deer carcass or whatever bait to the ice. It helps keep your bait from getting dragged into the bush. Setup a blind on the edge of the lake maybe 200 or do yards or so away and wait. It will take a while.
