Guest FreshwaterFisherman Report post Posted April 15, 2015 The key to round ones is tight, and I mean tight wraps. Some guys use 6/0 and wrap lots of thread. I use 210 and now even gsp and crank down tight with fewer wraps. Good sharp scissors are key, otherwise the ball will be left looking scraggly. It all comes down to keeping it all tight. Like deer hair the more material you use, the tighter and more round they will stay. I'll tell you though, even the roundest glo bug will lose some of its shape when wet. So don't get too picky with the shape.

Guest FreshwaterFisherman Report post Posted April 16, 2015 Mcfly foam does make it easier. I find mcfly foam takes a bit to sink. Both work well. I don't weight the sucker spawn. Sometimes I do a bead head egg. Which I have had good success with last year. Was hard to keep the suckers off them too.
Thefishleclair 175 Report post Posted April 19, 2015 Well I used the video from Snowball and looked at Sucker Spawn vid too. Tied some up and meah I think I may get some action. Need to find some lead wire. Tied up some big ones as well also using 210 thread and been pulling tight. Quote Grumpas' Baits Check it out on FB
Guest FreshwaterFisherman Report post Posted April 19, 2015 Lead wire? I'd suggest going with a bead instead for weight. I regularly fish bead head glo bugs.
