mooboy76 4 Report post Posted April 1, 2016 I'm not sure it will be worth it, but I'm exploring the Managed Forest Tax Incentive Plan for hopefully the 2017 tax year. Does anyone have any experiences or tips to pass along for going through the process? Did you find it worth the cost of the plan and red tape? I also see mentioned that I may have to use the services of certified tree marker; was that actually the case for you, or just a recommendation? Lastly, are there any certified tree markers in the area? My Google-fu only revealed one guy, but his certification lapsed a couple of years ago. Am I barking up the wrong tree here? mooboy76 4 Report post Posted April 8, 2016 I guess nobody has done up a forestry plan before, nor used the MFTIP program to save some property taxes? I'll report back then when I'm out the other side of it. Quote CSSA Member CCFR Member
mooboy76 4 Report post Posted August 9, 2016 Partial Update. Forestry Plan for MFTIP was submitted in June. Now I wait until January to see what the tax savings will be. No update on tree markers, they seem to not exist in this region. No problem though, since they are not required for an approved forestry plan. I will update when I hear back from either MNRF or MPAC. Quote CSSA Member CCFR Member
