Red_Nuck 5 Report post Posted July 14, 2016 Going into Arrow Lake next weekend and camping at the eastern end with the Mrs and some friends visiting from Ireland. Haven't fished there in a long time (and am otherwise rusty on clear lakes like that), any advice for someone looking some good catching and a couple for shore lunch? Even whitefish spots would be interesting to try of anyone knows where to catch them. Don't have any downriggers for Lakers, unfortunately. Thanks! trout.huntress 7 Report post Posted July 14, 2016 Don't always need down riggers for lake trout! If you have a fish finder, locate deeper water where the lake trout will be holding at this time of year, and jig for them like you would ice fishing. Heavy jigs with plastics or tubes, anything white or silver resembling their forage. Where there are lakers, nearby there are whitefish. You can also jig for them with vertical jigging spoons, or swedish pimples. Here's a great vid on vertical jigging for lakers:
