Where does Sugar Shack have their huts?

Was out Saturday and Sunday.  Ice road was excellent to Poplar Point area.  Lots of deep snow and slush in many areas off the road.  Ice road took a beating in one section by coffin and people were getting stuck in their SUV's and cars, but then someone plowed around the bad spot and all was good after that.

That's typical of Coffin Is. 30 feet of separtion can make all the difference 🤔

Ice road was in rough shape, lots of drifting blowing snow, visibility was brutal, white out conditions, a few places with slush, their working on it but it's still a tough go.

the ice is 3 feet thick with snow and hard pack covering.

fishing was slow.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on sled travel for the weekend with the snow depth and any slush on the lake.  With the warm temps coming will it be possible or are we setting ourselves up for torture?

Was out yesterday.  Ice has tightened up and sledding was no problem at all.  Most snow had melted off the surface and it appears as if the ice has mostly popped up.  Encountered no slush at all, however, I did not veer off the main route from sawmill to coffin. Anymore surface melting/refreezing and scratchers will be required for sleds.  Colder overnight temps seem to be helping with the days thaw.

Ice did not pop yet ,,,,4 inch  of ice then about 18inch of water all thay way to sandpoint. After that you’re gd in spots

I said ice had mostly popped, and it appears it has popped in areas where there is deeper water.  Guy asked about the lake. All shallow bays are probably sketchy this year, including Sawmill, (especially since all the tracked vehicles are beating the crap out of the ice at that end) but depending on where he is accessing, snowmobile travel would probably not be an issue right now if you use your head.

No issues using sleds at Lac on Sunday.  You just need to keep an eye out for holes from other vehicles breaking through.
