Fisher18 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2019 I am new to the Thunder Bay area and am new to fly fishing, was wondering if anyone could give me some beginner spots that would be good to practice at. I’m not looking for anyone’s special spot just a place to start. Thanks!

Fisher18 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2019 I would like to try and target trout, but any species that is easy to catch to start really.
brookiebuster 117 Report post Posted August 8, 2019 The current river from boulevard lake to the cascades has lots of good water with brook trout, rainbows and walleye mixed in. Dry flies, small nymphs and small streamers will do the job. Quote "Whack em' and stack em',kill em' and grill em'" Ted Nugent
Bobber Down 921 Report post Posted August 8, 2019 All the fish from your honey hole go to the rivers with a water flow east of Thunder Bay. McKenzie comes to mind as well as the Nipigon and all rivers in between. Just gotta get out and wet a line. 1 Quote Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - what a ride!!!
