naden 136 Report post Posted August 31, 2019 People seem to fish south of portage bay towards the islands at the mouth of the bay. North of portage bay (formerly called squaw bay) is shallower. Downriggers aren’t necessary but a dipsy diver would help and some people think the dipsys outfish the riggers. I don’t have a lot of experience in black bay so maybe someone else can offer more advice. If you use the search function there is some other threads on black bay.
