u r correct !! only need hunter orange when there is a big game season open..deer or moose ..they dont use bear season that starts in august as ' big game ' . we all wear hunter orange because thats what we were taught in the hunter course ..got my license in 1976 and they drilled it into us to wear hunter orange. 🤓🤓

Holders of a trappers license are required to wear orange as soon as bear season starts I believe

That's how I interpreted the regs too. Although safety is #1 so it never hurts to wear orange.

hunt or be hunted

I’m kinda confused by 2 statements their , it’s not required until big game season is open and only wear it from the truck till ur in the stand ? Isn’t the opener of archery deer season not considered big game ? And if ur in the stand hunting are u not required to wear orange the whole time while in the act of hunting ?

It is considered big game but it’s not required until rifle season for deer begins

Hmmm that’s interesting, so someone at some point in their southern Ontario office figures hunting bears with a rifle isn’t considered big game, neither does sending a 330 plus FPS arrow down range at a deer or moose, I’m not complaining about not having to wear the orange but the logic isn’t really their backing it, I can hunt on my private land no orange till the rifle opener and then I have to wear orange on my own land ? I can see the dangers of open rifle season on public lands but on private I scratch my head about it ?

It is a little confusing but not everybody can read no trespassing .
