medy 17 Report post Posted November 20, 2020 It's a short walk in. I haven't had any luck through the ice the number of times I have fished it, have caught a few during open water

Ah...I was looking at a different Strange Lake. The one that is stocked with RBT is mostly Crown, but a bit of private on the west end. The grey is private land, the peach colour is Crown 1 Quote I'm going out to fish. - John 21:

Zackcorbin1401 542 Report post Posted November 23, 2020 I like pothole. Not many fish in the lake though I think they stock 100-200 fish a year into it.

I can't speak to that. Lakes with any portion of the shoreline on Crown land are usually (not always) available to the general public, if you can get yourself there. Lakes that are completely surrounded by patent (private) lands may be available to the public, but that really depends on the landowners....case by case basis. For example, Boulevard Lake is completely patent land, but the land owner is the city. Quote I'm going out to fish. - John 21:

Or is it just on gps?

I had no idea such a site even existed. Not very mobile friendly but I’m sure it will work well on my laptop. It would be nice if the mnr would make that website and fishonline into a user friendly app.

Maybe there is a map option in there that will highlight it that i just havent looked for, but there are crown land uses that do not show up like resort boat stashes and trappers cabins. Im not sure the legalities of using places like that as crown land access.
