Do White Zonkers work for Steelhead in Tbay Area?

Hi there, I am somewhat new to fly fishing and steelheading. I know egg patterns are a go to for catching steelhead but I hear down in the other great lake tribs white zonkers work very well. Was wondering if it is the same here.

They are definitely an under used fly around here. I swing them post spawn and in the fall they’re killer.
