My buddy message them asking and this is the response he got. Hey The check-in station will be open at 8:30am eastern-standard time (the same time zone as Thunder Bay) The time change should be accounted for Cheers Dan

JohnZ 66 Report post Posted March 12, 2023 Last big hill at the end of the day was glare ice. Many sleds getting stuck.
unbedable 16 Report post Posted March 14, 2023 if you're going today, make sure you bring a Bud that can help you pull a sled or sleigh if it gets stuck. the normal hill, plus the hill rate at the lake were pretty icy Most people managed it well with some momentum, but there were a few people that got a little backed up. And a quad had to winch itself up the trail… Fishing was ok, coming and going in waves. Got 16, threw back half a dozen
Feldwebel Wolfenstool 80 Report post Posted March 14, 2023 ..."threw back half a dozen"? I seem to remember that we had to ice everything single fish we caught. Seems like the average size has increased a LOT over the last 15 years...
JohnZ 66 Report post Posted March 16, 2023 You are allowed to release fish. You can keep 5 lake trout and 1 pike any size.
PajamaSquirrel 20 Report post Posted March 19, 2023 We braved the blustery conditions today and amongst our party of 6 we landed 8 lake trout, releasing 2 small ones. No pike. White was the colour. From what we saw, most everyone had some type of ice shelter to stay out of the wind - even those that walked in from the road and pulled their sleighs. MNR said 53 anglers today, and I remember seeing on the Evenbrite page that today was sold out - so about 300 people. Weather conditions kept most home I guess - especially yesterday (at least the smart ones 😉 ). Posting a couple pics from the check-in station. Everything went smoothly on the way out, very educational and friendly. And hot chocolate! Check out the info board with angler numbers and results from throughout the week. Cheers! 4
