Hey there guys. Just wondering how the access in the lake is currently. Would be my first time fishing the lake aswell. Recently had luck with a laker at Oliver. Now going to try somewhere else. Also heard of some big Wally in hawkeye too. Any info would be appreciated.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think you’re going to have much success there.

Should be a packed trail onto the lake, I was on it a few weeks ago. It’s not plowed right to the lake, only the camp road.

Big Guy

Fishing can be hit or miss.  I have a camp on Hawkeye, i have personally caught walleye over 8 pounds but they are few and far between.  Fishing changes completely year to year.  Some years it's limits every time I'm out, the next year not a damn walleye to be had.  The lake is great for small mouth and pike, has some decent Whitefish and ling fishing and an ok population of Lake trout.
