If I was after a monster pike, I'd head to Hazelwood when the ice has just started to retreat.  You drag a canoe over the rotting candle ice to safely get at the shallow warm bays that clear up first...N.E. shore.

Red Rock Marina great place for casting spoons for Lakers 2 bad there Grease  Balls but fun 2 Catch. Lots of other stuff in there as well. Specks open up 2day but think I'll wait 4 next when the Sun comes out!!

i would disagree about the grease balls. Most lakers caught in the nipigon bay are stocked and make great eaters
