Looks like east bay is opening up if the satellite image is correct.

Well bottom right hand corner shows tha date from the NASA satellite image. Was todays date but the site said it was a day behind. The actual site is for forest fires but when I zoomed in on the lake it showed what looks to be ice break up. Not sure why it does not show snow also. Might be some kind of filter they use for display.

How would they get a clear satellite picture when it’s been cloudy for a week?

If you zoom out the image changes and the ice disappears. I think that imagery is just used as a base map and todays fire info is overlayed over the base map

If you follow the supplied link,

https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/usfs/map/#d:24hrs;@-89.4,48.8,13z

Then go to Kashabowie & Shebandawon, they are both shown with no ice.

I was at both yesterday, ice as far as you can see!

I’m sure we will have a good modis image in the next day or two if there’s no clouds.

I shake my head when I see people are eating big momma walleye, not sure why people would even want to but they taste gross and they should go back… I don’t keep one over 18” unless it dies. Fun little fact->The fish consumption guide recommends not eating any walleye over 22” in dog lake

That site only shows where the current fires locations are placed on a summer satellite image.
