Nice catch! Welcome to the site.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - what a ride!!!

I’d hardly call a brown trout catch common in this area

Best of my knowledge, the only places in FMZ 6 with browns that aren't stocked are Lake Nipigon and the Arrow River.  And I guess tribs of Lake Superior.

The usa side of superior receives pretty heavy stocking of browns,  arrow river was stocked many many years ago but has not been in a long time there are all natural/naturalized  in there now. I did hear somewhere or Mabye I read it tha they stocked a river on the top end of lake nipigon many years ago with browns aswell… that’s a very rare catch!
