Silver 3 Report post Posted March 10 Looking for advice on a battery for my 50# Minn Kota transom mount trolling motor. Considering going with Lithium, instead of deep cycle marine. Any words of wisdom re: lithium versus marine? Amp-hour rating? Thanks in advance
Pumps 0 Report post Posted March 10 I went with Canbat out of BC, 75 amp hr lithium. Super light and reliable, plenty of hours on the water.
AB 98 Report post Posted March 11 Take a look at Lynac Lithium Batteries available at KBM here in Thunder Bay - support two local businesses Can't say enough about how happy I am now that I have made the switch to lithium batteries to power my down riggers and electric trolling motor. Each spring and fall when I move them in and out of the boat I am thankful my wallet took the weight instead of my back. Two things to keep in mind about lithium batteries 1) they don't like extended exposure to below freezing temperatures - so plan on storing them indoors during the winter 2) lithium batteries respond much better to chargers capable of specifically handling the lithium charging cycle. They are expensive up front, about half the cost of a super AGM battery. But having local tech support is worth a few pennies to. AB
