MNR Answer:

“Drop Shotting” is legal in Ontario.

For those who aren’t familiar with this term, it refers to the practice of tying a weight (⅛ to ⅜ ounce) to the end of the line and attaching hooks (using a Palomar knot) at various distances from the sinker. In Ontario, you are allowed to have up to a maximum of four hooks attached to a single line.

There is an article in the February 2008 “Ontario Out of Doors” magazine that talks about drop shotting.
