Guest MNR Report post Posted June 13, 2008 The catch and possession limits for Zone 6 and Zone 9 (Lake Superior) for Rainbow Trout are the same, (Sport Fishing Licence = 1, Conservation Licence = 0), except for the Neebing and McIntyre Rivers where there is a length restriction (Rainbow Trout must be greater than 69cm). Since the McIntyre River flows into the Neebing River before entering Lake Superior we only need to discuss where the division is between Zone 9 and Zone 6 at the mouth of the Neebing River. On a map, draw a line from the most southerly point of land on the north shore at the confluence of the Neebing River and Lake Superior to the most northerly point of land on the south shore. This is the boundary between Zone 6 and Zone 9 on the Neebing River. East of the Pic River, the limit in Zone 9 (Lake Superior) and the tributaries in Zones 7 and 10 is 2 with a conservation limit of one, so it doesn’t matter if you are casting in the river or the lake – the limit is the same.
