Guest a nonny mouse Report post Posted March 27, 2009 hi. Just west of the Sault there is an area called Haviland Bay. They have shack rentals and the fishing is often pretty decent. If you are coming from the thunder bay area it is the place that has a big sign that says "McCauleys' on it. It's just a few minutes out. There are also lots of folks who hang out in the area of Base Line. It is just down from the property of Algoma Steel so always kinda freaks me out to think about eating the fish out of there however, it is a very popular place with many many shacks. The water is very shallow and for the most part, you can see the fish as they are nibbling away. Another place you could go would be St.Joe's Island. There are several spots there though i can't attest for the quality of fishing this year. My family is down there but haven't hit that area at all. good luck.
