Guest Ogoki Report post Posted August 1, 2009 I know this is not a fishing post but that many of you fisherman also pick a few blueberries . I did a search on the net and did not come up with anything . I am going to Armstrong for the first week of bear season and was wondering how good the blueberry crop is this year ? Last year they were everywhere and we saw only a fraction of the numbers of bears that we saw in past years . I went back mid September and got a bear then . I was up on the Ogoki River fishing in mid June and saw some berries setting on but could not tell from that . Last year with the bear harvest down where we hunted I would think that there will be more this year and some even bigger. Thank you for any info. Tried to call my outfitter but he must not have his radio phone set up yet . Thanks Again !!
Guest Nonus Report post Posted August 1, 2009 There is an "Everything Else" forum too. Don't know about the blue variety of berry but the neighbours raspberries are started to come in and rippen. All I know is there are plenty of places down 527 that have them.
Guest Ogoki Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Sorry I posted in the wrong place . I have only been on the fishing board and was unaware . My reason for wanting to know about the blueberries is because a BIG blueberry crop to bears is like millions of live minnows to the fish in a lake and you and I trying to catch a fish on a live minnow . Plenty of food and they don't feed at the baits . Thanks
Guest Nonus Report post Posted August 2, 2009 That is why you take a 12 gauge and a couple slugs with you. I gotta go berry picking, lots of raspberries out there too.
Buck 120 32 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Saw a woman in a parking lot on Cumberland selling Blueberries for $30 a basket, so they must be out. Quote Not just a 3 month season but a 12 month obsession!!!
