I feel like such a beginner asking these questions, but I am very curious if this is what happens to the does during the rut? She looks pretty banged up.

I feel so sorry for her. May keep my eyes open for this one, or whatever did this to her. I know there are wolves in the area where I am but I am pretty sure they would have taken her down quite easily. Sure wish I could see her other side and how fresh it is.

i'd say maybe dogs, they never finish the job, they'll tear them apart and leave them to die... poor thing

Hey Guys, I was just looking at my pictures and found another one from Oct 26 of the same deer. This one had all its legs. Looking at this picture closely, you are able to barely see her other front leg just out of sight. Makes me feel better, but I think she may still be in rough shape.

You can see her ribs, she has a chunk chewed rt. out of her side. That may be her other leg there too.
