Guest drk Report post Posted February 13, 2010 What are the regulations on using a light while night/ice fishing? I know it's ok to have a light on above the ice or water but what about dropping a light below the ice and into the water? To my knowledge it's illegal but some say they have never heard of such a law. Thanks.
Guest MNR Report post Posted February 16, 2010 No one can use an artificial light to attract fish except: -when angling if the light forms part of the lure attached to the line, or - to fish for lake herring, lake whitefish or smelt by means of a dip net. Dropping a light down the hole to attract the fish is not allowed.
