eddylives 99 Report post Posted May 8, 2010 Ok here goes...... If I go on a longer trip on Lake Superior , 10 days or so and catch some pike in the legal slot size in the first few days of the trip can we fillet and freeze them in the specified manner shown in the regulation book? So you are able to identify and measure the species , skin on etc. I only ask due to the fact that some fish vary quite a bit in body structure and we do not want to create a hassle for ourselves with the ministry if checked. Or would it be better to just gut them and leave them whole to avoid any conflict? Quote Have no fear of perfection.....you will never reach it
Guest MNR Report post Posted May 10, 2010 Anglers need to ensure they are transporting fish in compliance with the regulations, which are designed to protect fisheries resources. The fish that you catch and keep may be cleaned. However, please remember that fish taken from bodies of water where size limits are in effect must be readily measurable at all times unless the fish are; (a) being prepared for immediate consumption; ( prepared at an overnight accommodation for storage; © being transported by the person on the water from a temporary overnight accommodation and that person is not sport fishing; or (d) is being transported overland
