Steelhead at Silver Harbour

Hi Fellow Fishermen:

First time posting anything here, but I have been a fervent reader for about a year and half. Well, I went fishing for lake herring at Silver Harbour today. The action was very slow. But, I got a surprise catch, a Steelhead. This fat boy is 22 inches long and weighs over 3 Ibs. Not a monster. It is my personal first. Take a look of the photo.

Very nice steelhead! Did the fight blow your mind? It did for me when I got my first one through the ice.

How was the herring bite?

Oh Yeah!!! It was very exciting. My heart was probably 150 when I pulled the fish out of the hole on ice. This dose of endorphin will last a long time. Herrings were not biting too often on Saturday. I could see some of them cruising beneath the ice. But the number of fish I saw was much lower comparing to earlier in the week. Keep on fishing.

I was also at Silver Harbour on Sat and nothing was biting at all. Great weather though.
