eddylives 99 Report post Posted July 30, 2010 I would like to know what the regulations are for camping around public boat launches at the area crown land sites. In the past there will be some that decide to camp almost in front of the launches really restricting the access or leave their trucks & boat trailers. (a real pain in the mule to get around lol) Common sence is to leave these areas accessible but some have none. Thanks Quote Have no fear of perfection.....you will never reach it
Guest MNR Report post Posted September 8, 2010 We’ve answered questions about crown land camping and the 21 day rule on this site before. Under the Public Lands Act, it is an offence to deposit anything on crown land or take possession of crown land without authority. However, under our “Free Use Policy” certain activities (such as camping) are allowed. People engaging in these free use activities have the responsibility of doing so in an ecologically sound and socially responsible manner. Unless posted otherwise, Residents of Canada may camp on Crown land for a period of 21 days without a fee. After 21 days the camping unit (tent, trailer, motorhome etc) must be moved a minimum distance of 100metres. There are a few access points in our area where no over night camping is allowed, where camping is restricted to shorter periods of time, or where camping is only permitted at designated sites. If a person was camping such that they blocked the use of a public boat launch, that would go against the free use policy’s requirement of doing so in a socially responsible manner and enforcement action could be taken.
