Cool, Its easiest if the deer is left whole, Some guys quarter them up before butchering.

No I managed to cut out the top round, Sirloin tip and backstraps for steaks and roasts. I messed up the sirloin so that was added to the sausage pile. I got all the meat off the ribs, etc did not wast much at all. Took me about a few hours but I took my time, had the tunes on in the garage and enjoyed the moment. I figured I would savour my first hunted deer. LOL

The way I see it is: why would I go to all the trouble to scout the deer, then finally see them, them finally get a shot at one, then track it, field dress it and drag it out of there... only to let a butcher finish the job for what is it, $150 I heard? It's enjoyable and as mentioned garage time with tunes and beer is fun! I roped a buddy into helping me this year and then he got his deer the next weekend and i helped him out. It gets easier every time and I know where it's been.

Butcher is only $50 for deer but on your own is much better.
