Guest fancy pants Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Heard of people using canned shrimp and even cocktail shrimp as bait for trout. From what I understand it can be extremely effective, however I didn't want to do it myself until I knew if it was ok to do so. Thanks in advance.....fancy pants
Guest MNR Report post Posted February 28, 2011 There is no general prohibition on use of shrimp for angling bait, however certain waters have specific regulations banning use of any organic baits, or requiring use of artificial flies only. So the answer depends upon where you intend to fish. Consult the Exceptions to the Regulations for the Fisheries Management Zone you plan to fish for details.
