  1. I'm looking at buying some property to build on and need to bring the hydro from the road. I already have some estimates from local contractors to budget $2000 per pole, $500 per anchor, and HydroOne let me know that connection fees could be $900-$2800 (arial connection). Do the connection fees normally include an extra pole transformer at the road, if needed? If not, does anyone know how much they usually cost? I will be calling next week when HyroOne is open again, but sooner is always better. Do those estimates sound right? I paced out about 79 yards to the build site, and was told the max span between poles is 90m - with 150ft max from the last pole to the house connection. I figure I will only need one pole to get there, but my builder figured at least 2? Anyone with experience figuring this out have any comments on these numbers? I know a change of $2,000-$4,000 is not huge in the overall project budget, but I'd like to get a mostly accurate estimate for the money we will be spending.
