    Long lake stocking

Me and my brother decided to try long lake for some specs the other day. Seem to be very few options this year due to downed brush. Anyway looked at the stocking list and saw it was last stocked with 5000 fry in 2012. Figured any fish we caught should be good size (16-18 ?) . So first 3 fish up were 8-12 inches. My brother did finally get one up that was larger , maybe 18 but who can explain these smaller fish. This lake is supposed to be somewhat productive so a four year old fish should be bigger than 8-12. Is the MNR stocking list incorrect? Natural reproduction ? Any other ideas?
  2. I know the mnr stocked the west arrow narrows with brookies a while back but are they just in that area? or have they been caught throughout the whole lake??! has any been caught there recently ? and is there any good sized?
