Was on Whitefish Lake this morning out from the public launch.

4-5" of solid ice and lots of noise from new ice forming.

No bites. Checked by a CO.

Could you offer a hint on the location your were in? Maybe the Whitefish, or Devon Road area?

I will be heading out the first weekend after moose closes and was wondering how the ice was.

Since we can not call female anglers "fisherman" We should just call 'em hookers.....

After flying over Lac yesterday it appears to be frozen over, with snow cover, from Sawmill Bay to Pine Point. From there and beyond it's frozen but without much snow cover.

I fished Whitefish yesterday and it has 5"-6" of good solid ice. I took out my sled and toboggan with 2 guys on the sled and 1 riding in the toboggan (my 2nd sled had a fuel leak). There is a very light dusting of snow on the lake so if your sliders heat easily, you may want to re-think taking your sled. Perfect for a quad or walking when there isn't snow to slog through. We fished for 2-1/2 hrs and had several "drive-byes" while only hooking a couple perch. Gonna try Lac next weekend - it should also be good to go especially after this weekend of colder temperatures.

Guest Wes

Hard Water Season is here for me as well.

10 to 20 cm of ice, mainly held together by optimism. Only bites I had were from Jack Frost nipping at my fingers.
