With this latest cold snap looks like there could be a fish derby after all

Don't think I would be out there with only 5 in" of ice though

Action was steady at Kama for herring and couple whitefish in there too. No lakers or rainbows but plenty of good times :icefishing:

Just got back with mr. canoehead from dragging the hut out on silver harb. 8" measured about 100ft from the peninsula. There was a ridge running out from the island so we stayed away from there... shouldnt be too long now though!!! :icefishing:

If I had to guess the ice is probably the same thickness out past the island but crossing the ridge might be sketchy. And it turns out the person who thought there were shacks out there was looking at portables. There is now one shack out there...First!

LOL I think max was going for visibility when he decided to paint it orange. And hey it's not tarp it's high-quality, high-tech 5/8 chip board!

Do you really think it's likely for 8" or more to blow away? Damn, good thing we didn't install the satellite reciever yet!

If it aint froze over to the other side the ice may drift out, I have been out many times where the ice has opened a 2 foot channel at Silver Harbour and that's with the ice lockup shore to shore.
