unbedable 16 Report post Posted March 2, 2012 We got three apps in for the first Sat so sounds like quite a few people will be there. Hopefully the fish will be a little larger as I'm pretty sure it was last year that was inaccessible? If you are bringing little ones, and don't have a sled, you might end up pulling them on a tobaggan as its a decent walk in. Two years ago we only did OK, my sis got a 10+ Northern she had fun with, but had fun building snowmen. Same thing happened last year to, i didnt get a letter confirming i was accepted so i had to email and got my acceptance the night before. Pro fisherman-Stud Muffin 420 Report post Posted March 3, 2012 i asked in mnr forum.3 days ago they said We were out at Squeers on the 28th and can report 18" of ice 100 m out from the dock of the research station. The trail has a good amount of snow on it and there are some slushy spots on the back bay and at the entry point to Squeers Lake itself. Quote 2016 Dog Lake Open Champion. sinker7 114 Report post Posted March 5, 2012 Looks like our group is going on the Tuesday, Friday and last Sunday. We have always picked a Tuesday or Wednesday in the past but a few years back due to work obligations we went on the first Sunday. Way too many people. I know the trail Is at is best during the first couple of days but weather seems to play a more important role on fishing success than angling pressure. Looking forward to this years fishery.
