WalleyeWayne 137 Report post Posted October 24, 2013 Marmion giveth....and Marmion taketh! No better case for tether and PFD to say the least. Fortunately you and your dog were only shaken up, not seriously hurt.
Eyeguy 22 Report post Posted October 24, 2013 My buddy is from Atikokan and fishes the floods all the time. Even at that, he did about the same thing during the same tournament a couple years ago. Only with a 90 though, not a 225. He too was fortunate enough to be okay, but I think it opened his eyes a bit. Just goes to show that no matter how well you think you know a water body, always be prepared. In the words of Dave Letterman - safety first, kids. pbear 24 Report post Posted October 25, 2013 Best fishing this summer happened after I spent the day helping a friend pour concrete for his new camp foundation. I kept my 6 year old son moderately busy for the day until finally he had enough and wanted to go back to our side of the lake to have a sauna and watch a movie. We tossed two lines with bobbers off the dock and caught our limit of nice eater sized pickerel and two over 18", the biggest being 21" in 45 minutes. We'd watch the bobbers from inside the sauna and run out to catch the next wally. He called it the best time he ever had at camp! First fish ever caught off the dock in five years of owning the camp! Guest FreshwaterFisherman Report post Posted October 31, 2013 This past fall I fished my first tournament (Shebandewan Fall Bass Classic) and won big fish day one and 4th place for the day 1 tourney, ended up placing tenth over all for the weekend. Combined with all the other amazing fish, an amazing fly fishing season, meeting some great fishermen from this site, personal best season overall. I thank this site for making most of this happen. Cheers all!

Trevor Zimak 171 Report post Posted November 1, 2013 My personal best came from Marmion Flood Waters as well this year on September 29th. A 21.25" that weight 5.70lbs and a 20.5 that weighed 5.31lbs. We sacked a 24.06lb limit to win the fall event. The would have been a perfect day except for when I I smacked a rock. I dont know how we made it back, but we did.
