Bobber Down 921 Report post Posted November 3, 2014 What is the proper way to dispose of the carcass? Certainly not just dumped over the side of a bridge, in the city, along a waterway as this deer was..As I was walking my dog at Fisherman's Park today I looked over the NE corner of the bridge across the Current River just past Fisherman's Road and saw the carcass. These are the pics I took. Do hunters who take their havested animal home to butcher just look for an easy way out to dispose of the remains or maybe this was just a random idiot. I will leave the initial question to more knowledgable hunters to answer. Quote Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - what a ride!!! Mr. Canoehead 69 Report post Posted November 4, 2014 I bring mine out to crown land and leave it for the animals to eat. I don't leave it beside the logging road though. I roll it up in a tarp and dump it in the trees out of sight. I do have someone who takes my hides, they have been turned into clothing and drums. hunt or be hunted 59 Report post Posted November 4, 2014 That right their is pure laziness and makes us good law abiding hunters look really bad when someone just dumps the left over remains in town, it's not hard to drive 15-20min out into the country and leave it in the bush out of sight and out of mind for critters to Clean the rest up! Some people will never change and it's really sad 👎

The_Outdoorsman 33 Report post Posted November 4, 2014 no kidding about that 15-20 minute ride. if you can spend as much time as you do hunting the animal at least have the respect to properly dispose of it

scandiman 114 Report post Posted November 4, 2014 What a douche bag! When I harvest an animal, everything get's used. After I'm done butchering it, not even the carcass goes to the bush, the bones get portioned for my dog and all of the scraps get turned into healthy dog food.PS- that being said, if anyone ever has a deer carcass they want to get rid of, please PM me and I'd be happy to take off their hands.
