Resource Pimp 60 Report post Posted April 18, 2015 As per Zimmers request. Nothing really to report. Ice is still tight to the shore, ATV's still crossing to Castor Island. With the rapid progress last week I would have predicted April 29 or 30 ice out. However with the cold overnight lows coming this week, that ship has sailed 1 Quote "If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles." Mud bottom probably the difference. A lot of mud bottom near swamp bay area, we are mostly sand and gravel here in Shelter Bay, Same southern exposure. Resource Pimp 60 Report post Posted April 18, 2015 I'll think add these 5 "stand still" days to my initial thought of April 29-30th and Lower Sheban should be open May 4-5th...................hopefully Quote "If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles." Travis Schallock 28 Report post Posted April 18, 2015 How much ice do you have left? We had 34" last Saturday and have 20.5" this morning, still have a layer of water in the ice, and ice looks nowhere near lifting from shore. WalleyeWayne 137 Report post Posted April 20, 2015 Last year despite Shelter bay opening up, you still couldn't go out of the bay into Middle because that channel was still locked up with ice on opening weekend.

Resource Pimp 60 Report post Posted April 20, 2015 Last year despite Shelter bay opening up, you still couldn't go out of the bay into Middle because that channel was still locked up with ice on opening weekend. Southwest Bay (where the INCO mine was) is still Lower Shebandowan and traditionally has ice out 3 to 4 days after Shelter Bay and the rest of lower. Middle Shebandowan ice out is traditionally 5 to 7 days after Shelter Bay . Quote "If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
