fishman1 164 Report post Posted May 30, 2015 With the calf only season at the end of October, there is now no open season during the bow season. This now means that groups that do not draw an adult tag can no longer be in the woods during bow season.Unless of course ou have a deer or bear tag.In previous years our group could still enjoy our annual week long hunt , snooping around for a calf. This is no longer the case.A member of our group approached bill mauro on this matter and he said it was a complete over site on their part. They never realized the effect on bow hunters.Another nail in the coffin for our annual hunt!
Pro fisherman-Stud Muffin 420 Report post Posted May 30, 2015 Never thought of that. Makes a cow tag even less appealing for us archers 1 Quote 2016 Dog Lake Open Champion. Thunder Bay BASSmasters Vice-President
Guest fish9876 Report post Posted May 30, 2015 No chance in hell for my group getting a bull tag in archery this season so we decided to just do a 4 day thing with the fishing rods and the bird guns instead of a week with the bows. Hopefully we get lucky otherwise we gotta put an extra deer each in the freezer if we want to eat some wild game next winter.

Travis Schallock 28 Report post Posted May 30, 2015 Up in 18A we now need 8 Pool 1 for an archery bull tag, and only 6 Pool 1 for a rifle bull tag. How did they come up with that? As much as I would rather archery hunt, my odds are better to get a rifle tag, and my season will only be 3 weeks long without a tag for the regular gun season. scandiman 114 Report post Posted June 16, 2015 Well folks, start buying bear tags and get those numbers down so the moose calf numbers go back up. Great meat for the freezer!
