Recommended Posts

Back or more

Hey all its Jim Malcolm. Couple of good friends of mine are going to be heading to fish Rainy Lake this weekend. We have never been. Can anyone help out with some places we might start or try? Any info will help out... bay names island names depths this time of years. Mainly walleye this trip. Cheers to all and thanks in advance

If you know the lake at all, check some areas around the mermaid for beginning.  That's a general mid-lake starter area.  I'd be more specific but you would need a lake chip anyway.  I mean really, you either need someone on the lake or a local guide.  It's a big lake with excellent fishing.  If you're winging it then treat it like any other lake.  That is topographically mapped.  Buoys and humps are productive.

going fishing is okay, going catching is great!
