2112 174 Report post Posted January 4, 2019 Has anyone had any luck using the Meegs tipped with a small plastics for whitefish like they do on lake simcoe? I see people doing the meegs tipped and then up higher a plastic minnow tied like a drop shot. Ive learned not all S. Ont techniques work up here so figured I'd ask. scandiman 114 Report post Posted January 5, 2019 Given my experience fishing whitefish on Lake superior and other inland lakes in the region, I would say that for sure the meegs jig and dropper rig would work great. The meegs jigs are beautifully designed and whitefish, whether on Lake simcoe or any other big water, behave very similarly. I have personally fished both Lake Simcoe and several lakes in NWO with similar results. Meegs jig setup isn't my go to, but it will definitely work!
