They may eat your truck keys, but they won't eat them every single day just because they are swimming by and see them. But they may decide to eat your trailer keys because they have a blue key ring
fishman1 164 Report post Posted July 5, 2019 Seems the fishing has slowed from a few weeks ago, not many good or even decent reports coming in. And what's happened now on black bay? Long long hours for very few fish. hopefully things improve. Derby next weekend, hope the catch numbers are higher than last year. good luck to all. moriarty 4 Report post Posted July 7, 2019 A few LT in LTB this weekend and that's it. Very slow for them as well. Spent some time around McKellar as well and marked a lot in the 50-100 ft range, stacked, but no takers. Went around Victoria Island and got into some nice sized lakers, 6 in total, but no Salmon. tbayfinn 47 Report post Posted July 11, 2019 Looks like the DNR report for the upper Minnesota shore is similar to here (except for the Cohos): "Upper Shore – Twin Points to Hovland: Water surface temps along the upper shore are beginning to warm into the forty degree range and at times up to fifty degrees, although anglers with down temp probes confirm that this is generally a thin layer of warmed surface water and when winds blow briskly, water surface temps drop back into the upper thirty to low forty degree range. Angler pressure, while still light to moderate from most stations, is increasing at all stations. Twin Points and Silver Bay area anglers are beginning to target and catch fair numbers of Coho salmon in the 16-18 inch class. Some reports have indicated good numbers of Coho in recent days with most reported caught near to the surface. Reports of Chinook Salmon have been few with an occasional Chinook reported in the 18-22 inch class from all stations. All stations report that while lake trout continue to be found mainly in deep water, fish are now being caught more scattered and suspended through the water column and anglers have reported catching a few lakers within 100 feet of the surface. I have not received reports of very large lake trout with the average sized laker being in the 18-24 inch class with a few larger fish heard of." Barrski 23 Report post Posted July 14, 2019 Got busted Friday with the winds and only picked up LT Got into a bad situation with a sharp turn in the waves and my rigger cable hit kicker prop, lost ball and Fish Hawk torpedo. 🙁🙁 Much better today hit a regular spot and had two salmon a 6 and 8 lb in 30 min and than they shut down 15 and 25 ft and Than I couldn’t find them anymore. I went progressively deeper during the day but only LT picture wouldn’t load 2.1 mb 🙁

rceme74 20 Report post Posted July 14, 2019 We gave it a good run but no luck. We caught a boat load of Lakers, from 1/2 lb to 5 lbs. Could not locate salmon. We fished Friday in LTB, until the winds blew us off the water. Saturday we gave Sturgeon Bay a run, same results, lots of Lakers no Salmon. We did see two salmon caught so they were there. Sunday we fished in front of the break wall, lots of Lakers, no salmon caught, we did however have two on, no giants, but countable if we boated them. More work required for next year. Hopefully they bring the price back to $50. good Derby, we had fun. Let's do it again next year, this time more Salmon, and less winds.'
