I’d be careful around the ice ridges. They were open today... around 2:30pm.

How open were the ridges? Anyone come back later know if they pushed back together

It varies...Some spots were probably 10 feet accross, a couple feet deep. The narrower sections were open maybe 1-3 foot gaps...

There’s about 18” of ice 1/2km from the launch. Just watch your step around the ice ridge. You’ll have to pick a spot with the narrowest gap. It was open yesterday

I wasnt ballsy enough to cross ridge. Pretty open in lots of spots. Couple inches of ice over a foot over water over more ice.

And don't park in front of the ramps for unloading snowmobiles.  Bad enough that 1 truck did but both ramps are blocked.  Thanks dummy

How far do I have to walk out from the docks in order to get into Whitefish territory? And do I go straight out or go right towards the island? What depth? I have never fished out there, only visited the area during the summer.

Would like to take the kids out and try for Whitefish over Lakers. Thank you

I've had luck closer to st Mary Island for whitefish and herring. 40-60 fow for whitefish. And the herring are right under the ice.
