Keith bourbon 10 Report post Posted March 16, 2021 Anyone wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of smelt heads bouncing off the ice? I cant sleep! Those little buggers are itching to start the run. I'll go for a dip this weekend and let everyone know.
Bobber Down 921 Report post Posted March 16, 2021 A few days here yet but check out the freestone. They run early there. Bobber Down 921 Report post Posted March 16, 2021 Not much snow in the bush. Might be a low flow year if we don't get a frog drowner or two. But then you can always find enough for a feed sneaking through the Current River. Keith bourbon 10 Report post Posted April 4, 2021 Sucks to be a smelt. You can only tame a little strange once a year as long as the full moon comes out at the same time as the dandelions 🤣

James01 223 Report post Posted April 9, 2021 I like catching smelts, but I am not fond of cleaning them, nor do I enjoy eating them all that much ... I might try catch and release this year. 1 Quote Many Men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.- Henry David Thoreau
