Mr. Canoehead 69 Report post Posted September 20, 2021 I am archery hunting for my first time this year. Trying to get a deer with my recurve. Awesome ! But it's hot out. Do you guys hunt when it's like this? How to you care for the meat? Do you ice the deer? Cover it in pepper? Cheesecloth? Run an AC unit in the garage? Butcher it as soon as you get it home? Rush it to a butcher shop? these are all the ideas i had so far. Another question for you guys is where are the deer typically feeding this time of year, they aren't really where I expected them. From the scouting I've done I think they might be spending a lot of time in the marshes?
