Slushy lake conditions?

Recommended Posts

Dale

Has anyone Been to lac or whitefish or any other area lake recently? Just wondering how bad the slush is after this heavy wet snow last week any info would be greatly appreciated! Especially since I’m way too old to get bogged down in that stuff thanks

I’m thinking that this crazy wind we’ve been having is going to blow a lot of the snow off the lakes.  Some bays will be bad, but most of the lake should be good.

Anybody have an update on slush conditions? Pretty bad out there on smaller lakes to the west?

Just got off the road in Dryden.

Every lake, creek and puddle between Tbay and Dryden has multiple dark spots visible as you go by on the highway.

I would venture to say it is gonna be a slushfest like we haven't seen in years.

Definitely gonna need waterproof boots. Was thinking anyone going out for Lakers in the new year might want to rip up some trails and pack down a few fishing spots ahead of the opener.

1st time in years I am glad I still haven't laid out the cash for a snow machine.

Good luck and safe travels!

Am I missing something ... "a slushfest" vs. "may be good time go Dryden."

Lac's ice road is open - from a different thread. So, what are conditions like?

Found some slush up in Jaques Township.  When I say some, I mean a lot! lol barnum, pike and lottit all have a lot of slush.  I didn't slow down on the machine enough to know how deep it got.  Been there and done that.  Don't need to be chopping machines out of the ice ever again.

Heading there tomorrow morning. Word is the bite has slowed since the storm. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.

2 layers before hit ice, no slush. This morning, maybe 4 inches crystallized snow.

I was on fallingsnow yesterday, still some slush, saw two open spring holes when I went for a ride around lake, not very good ice this year. Today I walked out on Oliver the slush had froze where I was but ice was only 4" at one spot I drilled, gonna need some more cold weather and no snow
