I went to the mouth of current river two nights ago and not a soul there. Stuck around for 40 mins and dipped and nothing. But it won’t be long now. Lots of fish eating ducks around the mouth

I went to the cr last night and they started around 1030 and got better as the night went on. Around 12 they started running pretty good but we left since we got what we needed for 4 of us. Wouldn’t let me up load a pic. It’s only going to get better from here

Tried CR from 10:30 to 11:30 last night.  About a half dozen guys there.

No one caught anything before I left.

Since we can not call female anglers "fisherman" We should just call 'em hookers.....

Smelts are so weird one day u catch an unlimited amount you go back the  next day and nothing and 2 weeks later back into them again.

Any of you guys old enough to remember the wooden bridges that ran across where the red line is? I remember being down there and Kemp fisheries had their vacuum truck there with a 10 inch hose sucking up tons of smelts. LOL

The good old days. 🙃

Map from 1976 still shows where the bridges were.

I think the east point of your red line is in the wrong place. The pilings are still visible on the big island when you look over from the first dock. The picture on page 46  in the link show where the old bridge and the road used to run in 1959 and page 47 shows a 1974 image.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - what a ride!!!

Red line was just placed to give a general idea that a wooden bridge did cross over there at one time. Nice they cleaned up the place and made it into Lorne Allard Fisherman's Park. My family were close friends with the Allards. Loved his camera shop. He sure did love to fish.

Also noting there was a fish hatchery down there also.
