mikejson 35 Report post Posted May 21, 2023 Anyone head up that way this weekend? I haven't been up that way in a couple years, just curious if anything has changed roadwise? Thanks!
Davis Viehbeck 25 Report post Posted May 22, 2023 Still slow going. A few ruts, a few wet patches. People are still taking large RV's in. The road is narrow and you could be in for some real fun if meeting someone on their way out.
Fishog 215 Report post Posted May 31, 2023 Was up there today. Road is all washboard and large gravel rock. If you go fast to smooth out the ride your all over the road. If you go slow then you feel every bump. Only saw one wet spot but not that bad. The further up you get the better it seemed to get.
Thefishleclair 175 Report post Posted May 31, 2023 Since the camps opened up at Peterkin the roads have gotten worse. I know Maki Bay resort used to grade few times a year and logging company's as well top the highway. Ken might grade to the Peterkin turnoff only now. Not sure if the board that owns/manages the Peterkin campers association grades the main road as well. Quote Grumpas' Baits Check it out on FB
Dewy 7 Report post Posted June 13, 2023 Gravel road until the fork where you turn off to Athelstane lake road is as mentioned above - washboard. Once you turn off at the first fork, the road is pretty rough, but has been like this since ive started going into Athelstane. The last portion of the road after the second fork is pretty much the same as its always been. If you care for your truck/trailer/boat..... its a slow ride in.
